Enjoy the clear mountain air and the restful sound of the Rocky Broad River at the charming River House at Chimney Rock.  Less than a quarter-mile from the entrance to Chimney Rock State Park, the River House is a wonderful haven of tranquility in the Hickory Nut Gorge.  Renovated in 2012, this riverside home exemplifies rustic-refined.  There are majestic oak and heart pine hardwood floors on all three levels.  Owners Steve and Shelly Allen invite you to join us for a stress-free retreat in the western North Carolina mountains.

Tranquility in the Mountains

The River House has nine guest rooms and a separate cottage across the Rocky Broad River.  Four decks overlook the river and each provides spectacular views of Chimney Rock.  All rooms have flat screen televisions with DIRECTV access.  An exceptionally strong wireless internet signal provides all guests with wi-fi connectivity.

Breakfast is served daily between 8:30 and 10:00 AM.

Whether you’re a cyclist, golfer, hiker, kayaker, runner, antiquer (is that a word?) or simply want to sit by the river, read a book, and ignore email and turn off the cell phone (resist the urge to throw it in the river), make the River House at Chimney Rock your first choice for relaxation.
